What is Stress Down Day?

Stress Down Day was on Friday, 1st February 2008. It was a fun day – but with a serious message. See the video

It was a day when Samaritans aimed to raise awareness of the effects of stress in the workplace and encouraging people to take better care of their emotional well-being.

It’s also a day when we tried to raise as much money as possible to enable us to continue to help people in need of emotional support, no matter what the size of their problems.

"As a responsible employer and one of the UK's largest we are active in supporting people with stress related problems. We are very keen to raise awareness about stress and its potential effects and  we are delighted to support the Samaritans on National Stress Down Day to help them to continue their work with people in need of emotional support."
